Festival Queen 2004 - Jasmine Jno-Baptise
Jasmine Jno-Baptise was crowned Ms Montserrat Festival Queen in December 2004. Jasmine's dress was made by Ms. Jewellyn Roberts Riley and her chaperone was Mrs Islyn Samuel. Jasmine has acknowledged that her participation in the Montserrat Queen pageant not only boosted her self confidence and self image but it also improved her public speaking abilities.
Jasmine did not get the opportunity to represent Montserrat in any of the Caribbean pageants during her reign however she performed her role credibly when called upon for local functions on Montserrat.
Jasmine was born in Dominica and at the age of 19 she migrated to Montserrat for employment opportunities. She has resided on Montserrat since then. She is the mother of a four year old son – D’Jhari Jervan Daly who is very precious to her. Jasmine is fluent in both French and Spanish. Jasmine currently works for the Government of Montserrat and is now positioned at the Ministry of Communications and Works as a Senior Clerical Officer.
Jasmine continues to play a major role in many of the festival activities here on Montserrat. She has been a chaperone to many girls over the years and has been a judge for the Teenage pageant and the Mr. Montserrat that was held in December 2011.
The Montserrat Cultural Centre wishes to thank Jasmine Jno-Baptiste for the participation in the Montserrat Queen Pageant and for her continued efforts in helping to keep Montserrat Festival alive.
